House Oracle began with 45 drawings of household objects, creatures, and plants that were channeled in a single night in 2020.
The original drawings and first woodblock printed decks have been used for three years to collaboratively find meaning within the mundane with many people throughout COVID's beginnings, uprisings, and systemic shifting. This deep introspection through collective meaning making is rooted in questioning the idea of home within broken systems, and how to reclaim to land-based spirituality through simple living.
The first limited edition decks are made from 100% local paper waste and wildfire charcoal ink. "Recycling Center" is a traveling educational paper making workshop throughout process of creating House Oracle Projects.
House Oracle Bibliomancy is a limited edition risograph printed 144 page book, with a screen printed cover. The contents include 45 drawings and poetry distilled from collaborative readings, as well as a story about how the deck came to be. This is a collaborative publishing project with Jai Knight, Making Tangible and Neoglyphic Media.
